Websites about Pattern

Since last week Fika has learnt about Pattern using manipulatives to show grown pattern.
Several websites that I have got for Pattern as follow:
1. http://www.linkslearning.org/Kids/1_Math/2_Illustrated_Lessons/5_Patterns/index.html

2. http://www.mathcats.com/explore/polygonplayground.html
(This might be good for kids
- to make their own pattern
- to work in pairs, asking each other to continue the pattern
- continue the patterns that have been made by the teachers with different level (easy, medium, hard)
- or to identify the core of patterns that have been made

3. http://www.amblesideprimary.com/ambleweb/mentalmaths/countersquare.html

and http://www.primarygames.co.uk/pg2/splat/splatsq99.html

(ideas to make patterns of number 1 - 100. This can be for pair works)

Number games

This number game is might be interesting for kids in learning about mathematical facts.

Lesson: Energy

Fika is learning about Energy in her school
I searched the website using the key word 'energy and mathematics and investigation and kids', then I got http://www.kids.gov/k_science.htm.

In this website I chose
Energy Kid's Page - Learn along with Energy Ant about different types of energy. This site is from the Energy Information Administration.

Then I got http://www.eia.doe.gov/kids/.

Her teacher also usually visits this website.

For parents who want to help their children learning about energy, this website would probably useful.
