This mathematical website (Trial 1) would be useful. I need to check it carefully but for now, let me just put this website here and ask some kids to try. Are they interested on this site? Which part do they like to play? What mathematical concepts can be developed using this tool?

Fika is quite sick

Fika is quite sick. That's why I asked her to go to bed earlier and stopped her playing computer. I knew that during at school she drank little, only about one cup and she didn't eat apples and her sandwiches at all . Only some biscuits. She must play lots at school. She always said that she has no enough time to eat at school. She is a slow eater!!! and this is always a problem.

Website about insect

I am interested to know the availability of learning resources for kids about insects in websites. I then searched via google with key words 'insects and kids and games', even I choosed key words 'insects and kids and mathematics and games'
I was excited to know that lots of websites. I just showed one game to Fika and she played with it before going to bed. it 's http://www.ento.csiro.au/about_insects/for_kids/concentration.html.

First day of School of Term 2 Year 2A

Back from the school, Fika told me that in Term 2, she will only learn about Insect. 'Are you sure?' I asked her. 'Yes, my teacher told me'. That's her understanding. Then I asked her 'what is insect' She explained enthusiasticly that Insect has 6 legs, antenes, 3 bodies. Then she gave me examples such as butterflies, bees, grasshoppers, and bugs. When I asked what she meant 3 bodies, she said 'one is head and the other I forgot'.

Then a new idea came to my mind and said to her, 'How about if you write that story, write what you have learnt at your school in your website' Then she replied, 'but can you help me how to do it? because I don't know'. I replied, 'Yes, I will help you but you can just write what you've just told me. Don't worry to make mistake or misspelling'

Eventually, after eating some foods and watching TV, she wrote some sentences in her websites. She asked me 'how do you spell about'. I said 'just write it, don't worry to make mistake. It doesn't matter if it's wrong' She complaint 'I forgot some spelling because I did'nt write a lot'

I remember her comments that she was writing a lot in Year 1 because her teacher always ask students to write. and she said 'I don't know why my teacher (in Year 2) didn't ask me to write a lot'
I couldn't understand what she meant because I saw several writing activities in her classroom during my present there as volunteer.
Anyway, I will learn how to help my kids to write. You must know my Fika and Fida that Mum and Dad always struggle to write effectively. I am learning FROM YOU and I am going to learn FOR YOUand for other learners.
